Lady's Underwear - 1930
The US was in the depths of the worst depression
in its
history. The movies became the nations escape and gangster films
like
Little Caesar and Busby Berkeley musicals were the favorites of a down
and
out public. Scotch tape hit the market in 1930 and the planet
Pluto was discovered orbiting the sun. The bad times woudl
continue throughout the 30s and the nation would emerge from hardship
only after WWII. Womens fashions were sleek, slinky and
form fitting and required only minimal underwear. Typical
components were the tap pant and camisole
combonation and the petticoat.
