It was the time of Davy Crockett
coonskin
caps, hoola hoops and a strange obsession with
chlorophyll. Sleek
and Chic was the style for 1950 and Suzy Parker
was its essence.
A model who graced the covers of over 60 magazines, she had
the uncanny
ability to project just the right look in any clothing. Born in
Queens, New York and
raised in San Antonio, Texas, she came by her chameleon like quality
honestly.
She became the signature face of Coco Channel and the
first model
to
earn $200 per hour. In 1957, she broke into acting with a
performance
in 'Funny Face' with Audrey Hepburn and Fred
Astaire. Her screen
credits
include 'Kiss Them for Me' (1957) and 'Best of Everything'
(1959).
The
'It Girl' of the fifties died at the age of 70, but her
photographs and
films live on to remind us of her beauty and versatility #N180 Three piece suit featuring a narrow sheath skirt with rear split and wide skirted unlined jacket with contrasting cuffs and rollback collar.
