The year is 1956.  Elvis appears on the Ed Sullivan show and changes rock and roll forever.  The average American annual wage is just over $4000 and a gallon of gasoline is 22 cents.  Rocky Marciano retires undefeated and Marlon Brando SINGS in Guys and Dolls.  The future is coming with the first computer hard disk by IBM, the first portable black and white TV and the first commercially available (but totally unaffordable) VCR.  Americans are surrounded by western TV shows, oral polio vaccines and the newest thing in cooking - the non-stick frying pan.

This is an authentic 1956 pattern.
