During the Edo Period in Japan, the Kamashino was
the chosen garment of the samarai. Comprised of the Kataginu (pleated
vest) and the Hakama ( pants or skirt) worn over a knee high kimono, Kamashino
is today worn for official ceremonies or for comfort.
