Allium schoenoprasum - Perennial - Culinary (Also known as: Ail civite, Petit poureau)
Delicate onion flavor is great in soups, salads and stir-fries. Leves and flowers possess mild antifungal properties. The plant resembles wild onions with its grasslike foliage; blooms are lavender powder-puffs 1-2in. in diameter and appear in May or June. Plants perfer full sun or partial shade and grow to a height of 16in.
