Alchemilla
Alchemilla vulgaris - Perennial - Medicinal (Also known as Lady's Mantle)
This pretty chartreuse blooming plant has been used for centuries to treat cuts and wounds, menstrual disorders, lack of appetite and rheumatism. The young leaves are cooked and are a part of 'Easter ledger', a pudding eaten during Lent. They are also used frequently in mixtures of tea. Leaves and flowers are a natural astringent. The plant is a perennial, bearing large grey green leaves and flower brackets held on tall stems. Grows to about 30in. in full sun or partial shade.
